Sleep is on every expecting mom most wanted list! It’ll be harder to get sleep when the baby
arrives so getting sleep during pregnancy is necessary. Unfortunately, sleep can be elusive for most
pregnant women after the first trimester.
If you normally sleep on your stomach or back it can also become very
frustrating trying to sleep as your body changes. Back pain, leg & arm cramps, indigestion,
baby kicking during the night and the need to use the bathroom can wreak havoc
on your body and prevent you from sleeping through the night.
Find what works for you! There are a lot of suggestions on
the best position in order to get sleep but every pregnancy is different. Sleeping on your side is believed to be the
best position but if this doesn’t work, try other methods like sleeping on a
couch or recliner. Make sure that you
are wearing loose and comfortable maternity sleepwear. Choosing the right position can improve your
sleep and help relieve pain but have faith in your body to find the best
position while you are asleep.
